Your provider may assign addresses dynamically. Switching Wi-Fi, mobile networks, VPN endpoints or IP protocols can change the address a service sees.
Not precisely. IP location databases are approximate and can describe a provider’s network rather than your device. ABOUTIP does not request GPS location. The time zone above comes from your browser.
No. The starting prefix is an example, not a measured network mask. Enter the IPv4 address and prefix you actually want to calculate. The calculation runs locally in your browser.
Yes. Use the CLI / API guide. The overall allowance is 40 requests per source IP in a rolling 60 seconds. Pages and API requests share it; DNS and reverse DNS have an additional shared lookup budget.

You should not need an account to check an IP address.
A request reveals a source IP address and request headers to the infrastructure serving it. ABOUTIP uses the observed address to display your public IP and apply temporary request limits in application memory. Responses are marked no-store. The browser time zone is read in your browser; it is not GPS or IP-derived location.
DNS lookups and optional reverse-DNS queries are sent by our server to Cloudflare’s public DNS resolver. The submitted name or reverse lookup address is included; the application does not add your visitor IP to that upstream query. IP inspection processes the address you enter on our server. Subnet calculations run locally in your browser.
The overall request allowance tracks recent activity in a rolling 60-second window. Expired entries are cleared periodically; separate lookup entries are cleared after inactivity. Cloudflare provides proxy, DNS and security services, and OVHcloud hosts the application. Their operational and security processing may include connection information under their own policies. These application-level statements do not describe every log or setting held by an infrastructure provider.

The application adds no ad-network scripts, tracking pixels, analytics SDKs or advertising cookies. Clicking a promotion opens the destination in a new tab; that site applies its own privacy practices.
