Network, mask, broadcast and usable range. Calculated on your device. The starting /24 is illustrative, not your detected network; IPv6 connections use a documentation IPv4 example.
Supports /0 through /32, including point-to-point /31 networks.

40 requests / minuteOne rolling allowance per source IP across the site.
30 DNS lookups / minuteDNS and reverse DNS share this budget within the total.
Your provider may assign addresses dynamically. Switching Wi-Fi, mobile networks, VPN endpoints or IP protocols can change the address a service sees.
Can an IP address tell someone where I live?
Not precisely. IP location databases are approximate and can describe a provider’s network rather than your device. ABOUTIP does not request GPS location. The time zone above comes from your browser.
Does the subnet calculator detect my network?
No. The starting prefix is an example, not a measured network mask. Enter the IPv4 address and prefix you actually want to calculate. The calculation runs locally in your browser.
Can I use ABOUTIP in a script?
Yes. Use the CLI / API guide. The overall allowance is 40 requests per source IP in a rolling 60 seconds. Pages and API requests share it; DNS and reverse DNS have an additional shared lookup budget.
DNS changes, proxies and network configurations affect the results. No lookup guarantees ownership, identity, location, security or reachability. Verify information before making operational decisions.
Use the Service Responsibly
Do not overload the service, evade request limits or use it to facilitate abuse. The current overall allowance is 40 requests per source IP in a rolling 60 seconds. DNS and reverse-DNS requests also share a 30-lookup per-minute budget. People sharing an IP share these allowances. Follow the Retry-After header on a 429 response.
